Personal Story

As a young girl, I was always interested in medicine and healing. Originally, I wanted to be a doctor.  I have 10 brothers and sisters and my father said that he could only afford to send me to nursing school, and then I could pay my own way to med school.  I ended up loving nursing, especially, the mandate of caring and compassion which is the core of nursing.  Nursing has turned out to be the perfect path to the holistic nursing I do now, which is my true calling.

In 1997, I created the Center for Healing and Change dedicated to offering expert, compassionate care based on the unique needs of each individual client. Her commitment is provide an opportunity for people who are living with stress, grief, chronic or life-threatening illness with the opportunity to transform the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions of their lives.

Mary’s own personal life experiences including health challenges and tragic losses have taught Mary a great deal about her own life’s journey. Through those challenging times, Mary experienced the power of her own innate wisdom and intuition.  She also used many Mind Body Spirit medicine interventions to find ways to help herself to heal. Through her own personal experiences and the experiences of her patients and clients over the past 30 years, Mary intimately knows the territory of stress, illness and loss.

She believes that what she has learned can help her to guide others who are in the midst of similar life crises. Her belief is that this is always the “soul’s journey” and that it can always be a transformational process. Her commitment is to helping her clients find their unique circumstances for healing on the deepest level, even though she recognizes that curing the disease sometimes is not possible.
